Diffuse

A 2D platformer built entirely around the clock. One bomb, one countdown, no second chances.

Pitch

You're a lone robot dropped into an industrial complex under a moonlit sky, with one objective: reach the bomb and defuse it before the countdown hits zero. There's no slow, careful approach here, every second spent exploring is a second you don't get back. Every enemy in your way, every wrong turn you make, costs you time you can't get back.

That's the whole game, distilled: move fast, think faster, beat the clock. Diffuse was built around the idea that a countdown isn't just a UI element ticking away in the corner, it's the entire pressure system driving how you play, moment to moment.

Story and Setting

Past a quiet, moonlit mountain lake sits an industrial facility that shouldn't be there. Something's gone wrong inside, and the bombs are now live. You're the one sent in, small, quick, and expendable enough to risk it. The facility isn't friendly: patrol robots guard the corridors, and the clock on the wall doesn't care whether you make it out.

Core Gameplay

Run, jump, and double-jump through tightly designed industrial levels, each built as a small platforming puzzle under time pressure. Deal with enemies your way, stomp them from above to take them out, or avoid them entirely if you're low on time. Defeated enemies have a chance to drop health pickups, giving you a reason to fight rather than always flee. Defuse the bomb by simply reaching it, no minigame, no fuss, just get there before the timer runs out. Score is built from how well you played, not just whether you won: time remaining when you defuse the bomb, enemies you defeated along the way, and the bombs themselves all add up into your final score. High scores are saved per level, so you can always come back and try to beat your own best run.
